Circle Sport and TMG merge ahead of 2017 NASCAR season - Motorsport.com, Edition: Global
Circle Sport team owner Joe Falk and The Motorsports Group team owner Curtis Key announced Saturday that will field a combined effort in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup season.
The organizations will field the No. 33 Chevrolet SS, utilizing the Circle Sport Charter and will work out of the TMG facility. Circle Sport spent last season allied with Leavine Family Racing. The No. 30 car may be entered on a part-time basis.
“It’s great to join forces with Curtis Key, I’ve known him for a very long time and know we share the same feelings about racing”, said Falk in a CS/TMG statement.
A driver has yet to be named for the Daytona 500, but veteran crew chief Pat Tryson will sit atop the pit box. Tryson has over 500 Cup races under his belt as a crew chief, winning eight times. He spent the 2016 season with Premium Motorsports.
“It’s great to have Pat back with us, he was instrumental when we got started with our Cup program and we look forward to his insight in 2017”, commented Key.
