Tech Giants Give Last Minute Help On Election Day
[ad_1]
Election Day is one of the most important days this year because today people will decide their fate by voting their favorite. In order to help people know more about this Presidential Election, tech giants decided to provide some tools that help voters.
Tech giants like Twitter, Facebook, and Google have some services that help people with what they need to know. These tech giants provide information like who is running (in case you didn’t know), polling stations and other important things.
Other big companies want to help as well. For instance, Uber is giving rides to get people to the polls and Zipcar offers free rentals. The tech giants are making these efforts in order to make people vote and choose the one that they consider better.
Google mentioned that it is going to provide the results in 30 languages and that the results will also include state-level referendums. Google, with the help of its Gmail service, is showing people where they can vote.
YouTube is another one of the tech giants that are involved in this presidential race. YouTube is going to live-stream the election results from Telemundo, MTV, and NBC. This is going to be a part of the coverage made especially for the Election Day.
Facebook has already developed a new feature named Endorsement where you can choose your candidate and endorse that person. You can also share that with your friends and family if you want to.
“Voting is one of our great responsibilities as citizens in a democracy. That’s why you’ve probably seen us actively encouraging everyone who can vote, to go vote,” wrote Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
He also mentioned that Facebook has been helping people register to vote. He says that more than 2 million people were helped by the popular social media platform.
Other tech giants are going to bring new tools to the game. Twitter, for example, has a new tool that helps people know where they can vote. You can send a direct message to @Gov with your address and they are going to reveal important information, from ballot information to the closest polling place.
It’s an important day in the US and tech giants came together to help people make the best decision for their country. Everybody should vote today and choose wisely for the future of the US.
