D'Banj Recieved An Entertainment Icon Award At The British House Of Parliament - Konbini

The eight-year-old Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (BEFFTA) is an awards ceremony that honours the best showbiz and entertainment personalities “in the black and ethnic communities” (*side-eye*) around the world.

This weekend, D’banj received a BEFFTA Entertainment Icon Award at the British House of Parliament in Westminster, London.

D’banj announced on his Instagram that he recieved the award from Lord John Bird, a parliamentarian.

Speaking about the award, he said:

“I am humbled for this unique opportunity to be a beacon of visible hope.”

D’banj fans already know that he is an entertaiment icon, but a plaque making it official certainly doesn’t hurt.
